April LOVES this time of year because it's the one time of year she can compulsively shop and not feel guilty about it! :P

Mr. and Mrs. Mccullough...The Soundtrack

I was given permission to come up with a compilation of good love songs that would be played at our wedding this coming May. I've looked through my own personal play-list (actually, just what I have at work...I still have to look for more at home) and I've come up with 30 songs that I think would make for good background noise during the reception; more specifically during dinner, social time, and pretty much anything that isn't the dancing part (which I am told is it's own personal soundtrack that the DJ is going to come up with)

Here is what I have so far...

<col width="400" style="width: 300pt;" />

Somewhat-Easy-Going Legend

Ooooh Brutal Legend. There was a time when I was genuinely excited to play you. You seemed like such a promising game, like a great hack-n-slash, action, platformer with a brutal soundtrack; in fact, those were the main reasons why I wanted to buy you. Flash forward to about three weeks before the game's launch date. I start reading more and more about the game and I watch some new gameplay footage to which much of my surprise, I come to find out that the game has a heavy emphasis on Real-Time-Strategy. I was a little confused because much of what I was told, and believed, was that Brutal Legend was not an RTS, but an action-platformer...you know, like how the game was being MARKETED!!
Flash forward another two weeks to the time the demo comes out. Worried about the RTS elements that I read were a HUGE part of the game, I was somewhat skeptical to download the demo (which in fact took two whole hours to download on my PS3 because it was so huge). When I finished the demo, I was pretty relieved to find out that my worries have come to pass, as I did not encounter any sort of RTS crap along my journey. I actually enjoyed the demo, I thought the story was pretty unique, the game was fun, and the soundtrack was of course BITCHIN'. But as I were to come and find out, this is where the fun ends.
So, flash forward to launch day, and now all these game reviews come out from all my trusted sources, like Gametrailers, IGN, and 1UP. It was all of these reviews that arose my fears once again because as they report, the game is pretty much 80% a half-assed and uninspired RTS game. (deep emotional sigh)

Here is Zero Puncuation's view on Brutal Legend, which does a better job of putting my frustrations into big words.
<lj-embed id="82" />

Don't get me wrong. I'm sure there are some people out there who enjoy RTS games and really enjoyed this game. Personally, I think playing an RTS game is like attending a college math course. But the thing that really upsets me about the game is the fact that the game was marketed as a hack-n-slash game up until about a month before the game's release. WTF man?! EA pulled the good 'ol bait-n-switch on us. What if all game companies did that? What if we all thought Assassin's Creed was this great open-world adventure game when in fact it was a dating simulation? What if we thought that Left 4 Dead was a first-person zombie shooter when it was actually a Pokemon game?
I could go on and on about how it was wrong that EA tried to, somewhat, hide the fact that Brutal Legend had heavy RTS elements in the game and that the game was built from the ground up to play that way, but for now, I'm going to have my own personal boycott on the game. I really don't see myself playing this game anymore, which is a big shame because it seems genuinely funny and there was a time that I was really excited for it.

What do you think about the game? Did you know about the RTS elements? How do you feel about the bait-n-switch? And more importantly, do you see yourself playing this game ever?

I haven't had a lot of money for myself this year, what with Zoey getting older needing new things everyday, my wife needing stuff for school, her car, her gasoline, and not to mention all of the stuff I buy for the house, it's easy to forget about my own leisure sometimes.

So, in a very, VERY optimistic attempt for having myself a very nice holiday season this year (since I'll personally see to it that both April and Zoey have a great Christmas...hee, hee, heee), hear is a list of things that I would like come this Christmas.

1. A sewing machine

Something like this will do wonderfully, since I really only need one to alter my clothes (ie...fit me better)

2. On a side-note, I heard Christmas songs at the mall today. (ahem) FUCK YOU CORPORATE AMERICA!! IT'S NOT EVEN HALLOWEEN YET!!! When I was growing up, Halloween was Halloween, and Santa Claus wasn't sticking his ASS into it!! :P

Little Adrian has been in surgery since he was born...and that's all I know for now. ;_;

Poor Didi has lived a life of tragedy and hardship all her life. But throughout it all, she's become one the strongest, kindest, and well-adjusted people I've ever met. I talked to Natassia about Didi during my lunch break and she tells me that Didi trying her best not to break down. Efren (Did's boyfriend) however, is an absolute wreck. He's been really excited to become a father and now, everything rests within the doctor's hands.

Right now, Didi is at a hospital in Mission Viejo because she was down there visiting her mom, who is a nurse that was transferred there to cover a shift. While Didi was down there, she unexpectedly went into labor, which is supposed to be a happy time for parents, but has become an unnerving tragedy.

Please keep them in your thoughts.
New Batgirl

Since I'm a religious follower of the Batman lore, I thought I might let people know, whoever might be interested, that in addition to a new Batman (Dick Grayson) and a new Robin (Damien Wayne), there is now a new Batgirl as well!
If anyone is familiar with this young lady...

...her name is Stephanie Brown. You may recognize her as the vigilante Spoiler, the daughter of the deceased villain Cluemaster. If you're familiar with her character then you'd also recognize her from her very short tenure as the fourth Robin. She earned the title of Robin after Tim Drake was forced to quit when his father found out about with life as Robin. She was dating Tim at the time, which caused a wedge in between the two when Tim found out about her 'replacing' him. Needless to say, he felt very betrayed by Bruce Wayne as well.
Anyway, as Robin, during the War Games saga, she was vigorously trained by Batman in all the same ways her predecessors were and ultimately earned Batman's respect. However, during a mission out on patrol, Bruce asked Stephanie to stand guard while he finishes up what seemed to be a simple capture. The villain gained the upper hand on Batman, and Robin, not willing to stand by and watch her mentor be defeated, intervened and captured the villain and ended up saving Batman's life.
Bruce however was not happy with Stephanie. According to Bruce, Stephanie deliberately disobeyed a direct order to stand guard 'no matter what happens' and was promptly fired from the position of Robin as well as forbidden to patrol the streets as Spoiler as well, which devastated her.
Flash forward to the end of the War Games saga, Stephanie, trying to prove herself to Batman, starts fighting crime again under her old guise of Spoiler. Ultimately, she is captured by the villian Black Mask and is brutally tortured by him to the point of near death. Amazingly, she manages to fight off Black Mask and make her way to Leslie Thompkins clinic, where she apparently dies with Batman at her bed-side.
In truth, Leslie faked Stephanie's death in order to protect her from Batman's war on crime. Leslie has always disapproved of Batman's use of teenagers as sidekicks and decided to fake Stephanie's death as a way to make Batman realize his mistakes.
Month's later, both Bruce and Tim discover that Stephanie is still alive and well and is still fighting crime under the guise of Spoiler once again, only this time, she earns Batman and Robin's approval to do so.
Shortly after Bruce Wayne's apparent death during Final Crisis, Cassandra Cane (Batgirl, at the time, and Stephanie's best friend) became disillusioned at the loss of her foster father and ultimately gave up the title of Batgirl, quickly passing on the title to Stephanie Brown before disappearing. Cassandra's whereabouts as of right now are unknown.

So there you have it, the new Batgirl...ta-da!!

When Dick and Damien found out about Stephanie fighting under the guise of Batgirl, they immediately told Barbara Gordon (The original Batgirl and currently Oracle). Barbara make it a point to pay Stephanie a visit in her home and without hesitation, forbid her from wearing the costume. Of course Stephanie has no intention of giving up her new title and is currently investigating a drug-ring which involves Scarecrow's fear toxin.

(sigh)...I'm such a nerd :P

Everybody loves this design so much that we made a giant banner out of it so that our fans can enjoy it too. If I were Becky, I'd be very, very flattered. We can finally have something to sell and at the same time have a good excuse to meet and greet the people who love our music.
Every band needs a hot chick to sell their merch at shows, and April has gleefully volunteered herself to be that hot merch-girl.
Our target date for our new shirts is before our huge show at the Riverside Pride Festival on October 12th.
Why Isn't Rush Limbaugh Dead Yet?

In yet another case of Rush Limbaugh talking out his fat asshole again, here he berates President Obama and claims "In Obama's America, the white kids now get beat up with the black kids cheering". Obviously referring to the incident earlier this week when a student tried to take his classmates hostage on a school bus and then a football player tackled him down, giving everyone a chance to escape from the bus.
Only somebody so full of ignorance and hate like Limbaugh's fat-fuck-ass can take a situation like what occurred and turn it into something racially motivated. I am so sick and tired of Rush Limbaugh and his fascist, racist remarks!! People like him, who think we still live in the 1950s when white people roamed the country bossing and pushing around every minority they came across like it's everyday business, really shouldn't be given the right to have an opinion.

"Hey Rush Limbaugh, why don't you take a knife and promptly run into it? Or better yet take the biggest bullet you can find, and have someone, preferably black, to shoot you with it. Please Rush Limbaugh, the country...no, the WORLD would be better off without you"

Of course, who am I to judge what Rush Limbaugh says. Of all the people in the country, 'he' would know about racism when he sees it...I mean, everyday when he wakes up in the morning he looks at the biggest fucking racist on the planet in the mirror.
